At its core, the GII 2025 reveals who is leading in global innovation, ranking the innovation performance of 139 economies and highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. For the 15th consecutive year, Switzerland takes the first rank in the GII. It is the global leader in innovation outputs in the category âCreative outputsâ.
In the latest Global Innovation Index, Switzerland is followed by Sweden and USA in second and third places, while âmega-economiesâ China and Japan were ranked at 10 and 12 respectively.
